Skyline R-II Board Meeting
November 20, 2014
The Skyline R-II Board met in regular session on Thursday November 20, 2014 with six members present. The consent agenda items consisting of Board minutes, bills and financial statement were presented and approved.
In old business: Skyline is still looking for a smaller bus to use for trips and a small route. The Board tabled the purchase of a bus at this time. The Board reviewed a quote from MoreNet to upgrade our current T1 (l.5 mb) line to 4 T1 lines (or 6 mb) for Internet access. Skyline currently uses Morenet who subcontracts out with Socket and Centurylink. Skyline has worked the last 6 months with Morenet trying to get the new lines in and seem to be at a stand still waiting on Socket. The Board tabled the quote waiting on more information from Socket and Morenet.
In new business: There was no new business for the month of October.
In the Superintendentís Report: Enrollment for October was 88 students in K-8th grade with 18 preschool students. The Skyline School Foundation is raising funds for new water fountains for the school. Anyone wanting to donate can contact Tim Scrivner or Jeanne Curtis. The After School Snack Grant was reviewed with no findings and results presented to the Board. School Board candidate filing begins December 16, 2014 and runs through January 20, 2015. Skyline will have 2 positions available this year. The next Regular Board meeting is scheduled for Thursday December 18, 2014 at 7:00 pm.
