Some Student Speeches: There will be mistakes, but these young citizens demonstrated courage to stand and deliver their thoughts before the whole school and community.
(More speeches will be added later.)
Patriotism
By: Austin
Citizenship.
Citizenship in America means you have to pay taxes on time, the male 18 year olds have to register for the armed forces. The citizens of the United States should always respect our veterans.
Follow the laws of the United States.
A patriot should always follow the laws and not drink and drive or you could get your license taken away for not following that law. If you drink younger than 18 or you could go to juvenile. You can also go to juvenile hall for smoking under 18 and you might stay there for a long time and it is bad there. You get little food and you have to use the same cloths over and over.
Why do we need a job?
Why should we get jobs? So we can have a good house and a good life. You have to pay taxes for your gas in your car, your house and everything you need to live.
Freedom
Everyone has the freedom of speech. Which means you can talk about whatever you want. You also have the freedom of press and religion. Which press means to write whatever you want and religion means you can believe what you want.
THANK YOU
I also want to thank the Mtn. Grove VFW post 3770 for the new flag pole. I also want to thank AVA VFW for the new flag.
Flags of different countries
By BILLY
There is classes on different kinds of flags. If you look on the internet you can find history about the us flag.
Things that represent the flag like symbols.
Stars represent the states in America.
The best symbol is the sun it represents Japan.
Flag history
The first flag that represents the continental congress was called the grand union. Congress made a resolution calling for a flag with 13 stripes and 13 stars.

U.S. CITIZENS
THE RIGHTS OF U.S. CITIZENS
’If you are a U.S. citizen you have the right to vote when you are 18 years old or older. You may not vote if you are under the age of 18 though. You also have the freedom of speech. That means you can say whatever you want, but if you choose to say bad things it can get you into trouble. You also have the freedom of press. The freedom of press is very similar to the freedom of speech. Freedom of press means you can write whatever you want. You may also get in trouble if you choose to copyright or write bad things.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF U.S. CITIZENSHIP
Believe it or not, U.S. citizens do have responsibilities. First of all, you have to pay taxes every year. If you are a U.S. male citizen, when you turn 18 you have to sign up for armed forces. If you are an adult or child you have to obey government laws. That means if you are under the age of 18, you cannot drink.
THE ELIGIBILITIES FOR NATURALIZATION
If you are from a different country, and you want to become a U.S. citizen you have to take a naturalization test. You also have to be a citizen for at least 3 years, ever since you applied to be a U.S. citizen. You must also say a citizenship pledge. After you have done these things, you are classified as a U.S. citizen!”
THANK YOU NOTES
Dear veterans of the United States,
Thank you for fighting for our country. You are very brave and you have a lot of respect for the U.S. You are very, very, kind and generous!
Dear Mtn. Grove VFW Post 3370,
Thank You for donating the flag pole to Skyline School. It really helped skyline out. Thanks for being caring.
Dear Ava VFW Post 5993,

To be a good citizen. You need to be good to all people and especially follow the rules. Listen and obey your parents or guardian.
Follow the rules of the government. You need to obey the law and try to stop criminals and pay all of your bills.
